1ST MARY’S CHURCH, COMMUNITY CONSULTATION
A welcome letter came our way from Father Bob Steven, the New Rector of Handsworth, about a meeting on Saturday 19th September 2015:
Dear Colleagues. As you are aware we are, at St Mary’s, exploring the possibilities of some re-ordering in the Church. One of the reasons for doing this is to allow more flexibility in how the space can be used and how the Parish Church in Handsworth can be at the centre of our community and used by the community.
We have some initial drawings that have been prepared but by the very nature of a project like this it takes a while to get it right. We therefore want to hold a Community Consultation on Saturday 19th September from 2.00pm to 4.00pm so that anyone who is interested or wants to contribute to this process and discuss can do so. You are invited and we would be glad if you could spread the word.
We don’t plan this to be a formal meeting, but an opportunity to listen and to explore possibilities. If you cannot attend but have some thoughts on what could be done and who would benefit, please do email me.
Thank you.Kind Regards,
Fr Bob Stephen
