5BIG HOOT OWL COMING TO HANDSWORTH PARK
Handsworth artist Scylla Magda has been working with local children to create designs which will be painted onto a Big Hoot Owl sculpture. The owl will be displayed in Handsworth Park from July-October, as part of the upcoming Handsworth Park Arts Trail, and as part of The Big Hoot Birmingham (http://thebighoot.co.uk) public arts event, which will seeĀ more than 100 owls situated across the city.
Come along to at the Boathouse Cafe in Handsworth Park (weather allowing, the cafe doesn’t open if rainy) for drop in owl drawing sessions with Scylla on Sundays between 2.00-4.00. Or drop into the cafe at any time during the week or weekend and ask for the Owl drawing sheets and colouring pens which are behind the counter. A free owl sticker will be given for each completed drawing, and the best drawings displayed inside the cafe.
The Big Hoot Owl for Handsworth park has been commissioned by the Handsworth Park Arts trail with funding from Birmingham City Council and Arts Council England. The Big Hoot is produced by Wild In Art.
