0BALLET, WHAT’S THAT? Now is your chance to find out!
As part of the Birmingham City Council’s Arts Champion’s scheme, Birmingham Royal Ballet is visiting Perry Barr community venues throughout February to introduce ballet to local residents and give them a chance to find out what ballet is.
How much do you know about ballet? Birmingham Royal Ballet are bringing ballet to Handsworth, offering you the chance to find out more about it. A series of local events will give you a chance to meet dancers, learn about their training and find out what goes on behind the scenes to put a show together.
During 2 hours of informal, relaxed evenings with live music and refreshments, residents will have an opportunity to see Birmingham Royal Ballet costume exhibition, take part in various sessions led by our staff, meet dancers, learn what goes on behind the scenes and see performances by local school students and BRB dancers.
Whether you know a little or a lot about ballet, these events have something for everyone:
- Dance photography and Birmingham Royal Ballet costumes exhibition
- Exclusive preview extracts of Birmingham Royal Ballet’s upcoming show performed by company dancers
- Talks and demonstrations
- Ballet ‘facts and figures’
- Performances by local school students and community groups
- Live music
- Refreshments
