0SKILLS SPEED EVENT
Grosvenor Road Studios (GRS) is working with the Black Arts Forum (BAF) to offer some great opportunities to gain useful new skills and meet people who will be good for your business; here’s the details, and we hope to see you there.
Create your own training and development program at the CREATE> skills speed date event
Monday 17th July 6-8.30 pm, at Grosvenor Road Studios
The Black Arts Forum and Grosvenor Road Studios are combining forces to present a development program called CREATE> Creative Renewal, Enterprise, and Empowerment.
This program is designed to help improve the capacity of the diverse individuals and organisations that make up Birmingham’s arts, cultural and creative industries businesses. So, whether you are working as a freelancer, setting up or running a business or developing a social enterprise there should be something here that helps you.
CREATE> Skills, is 12 learning workshops that build individual and organisational capacity. It is designed to make you better able to design, deliver and evaluate high quality cultural and creative activities, make your organisation effective and efficient, and to make self employed people and small businesses more sustainable.
To kick off the CREATE> Skills program we are holding a Skills Speed Event designed to help you to:
- identify gaps in knowledge or skills that are holding back your development as a practitioner or organisation
- create a personalised training plan with clear priorities
- identify what training you’re looking for in particular areas, so that we can program the learning workshops meet the challenges you have, at the right time and in the right way
The Create> Skills Speed Event is free, but you need to book a place by e-mailing gaildudson@btinternet.com
Refreshments will be provided.
CREATE> Skills will use the results to design an offer of around 12 learning workshops, which will be held at Grosvenor Road Studios, 16 Grosvenor Road, Birchfield, Birmingham B20 3NP.
CREATE> runs until September 2018.
How will the CREATE> skills speed date event work?
The facilitators Gail Dudson and Carol Pemberton will introduce the topics. Then you’ll move around the room, looking at the topics and working out which are the priority areas for you, or your business. We’ll ask you to make notes on your needs – to build up a list of the support you need.
You get to keep the plan – but we’ll take a copy to make sure we produce a training program that responds to what people want, and so we can get back in touch and let you know when the workshops will be.
CREATE> Meets will be a series of networking events providing you with the chance to meet like-minded people from across the spectrum of arts, creative and cultural organisations and businesses. More details on this will be available at the event on 17th July.
