Re: Culturally Sensitive Memory Café

Legacy WM is launching a new culturally sensitive memory café in partnership with Pearl Support Network on 30th March 2017, 11:00hrs -14:00hrs at Soho House Museum, Soho Avenue, Handsworth, B18 5BL.

A Memory Café provides a place where any member of the public, who feel that they or a person they know may have a short term memory problem, can drop in and talk to an experienced volunteer or a health professional. This free service provides an opportunity for participants to meet regularly with other people and their carers a chance to exchange experiences and to give and receive emotional support.

The Memory Café is run by trained volunteers with the support of health professionals. We look to provide support and information within a relaxed, friendly and stigma free environment. A programme of culturally sensitive events has been developed for both carers and the cared for.
