1HANDSWORTH COMMUNITY CHOIR
Love singing your socks off in the shower or crooning in the car? Why not join this exciting community choir, run by the team behind the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra?
The Handsworth Community Choir was formed in early 2015, and explores a wide range of music under the guidance of friendly, professional leaders. We love to perform in the local area as well as Birmingham City Centre – the group is a fantastic way to connect with your community and make great music together.
You don’t need any prior singing experience, you don’t need to be able to read music, and you certainly don’t need to have the world’s greatest voice! There are no auditions and just a small subscription fee. Everyone can sing: you just need enthusiasm – and to be willing to give it a go.
The choir is open to all residents of the Handsworth Wood, Lozells & East Handsworth, Oscott and Perry Barr wards who are aged 18 or over.
Rehearsals: Thursdays 6pm – 7.30pm weekly from 1 October 2015 (except Oct 29th) to Dec 17th, Rookery School, Handsworth, B21 9PY
Concert on Sunday December 20th in the Symphony Hall Foyer.
Why not come along for a chance to find out what it’s all about, have a sing, and see if it’s for you!
The Handsworth Community Choir is part of the CBSO’s work for Birmingham City Council’s Arts Champions Scheme, promoting and delivering new activities within the district.
