0NIGHT TIME OWL VIEWING
Wednesday 5t August, 20.00-22.00, Boathouse Cafe, Handsworth Park, Birmingham B20
Come & see The Big Hoot Owl in Handsworth Park (‘The Handsworth Park Owl & The Pussy Cat’), revealed in its true colours as a night owl for the first time, lit up with ultra violet light.
At the Boathouse cafe nearby, take part in an owl quiz, with prizes for the winners, and watch a short presentation about owls given by the RSPB. The cafe will be staying open late for this event, and will serve hot drinks and snacks, but feel free to bring your own additional beverages, or a picnic to eat outside if its a warm evening.
The event will start at 8.00pm so that you can enter the park in daylight. If you have one, bring a torch to use when leaving the park when the event ends at 10.00pm, although we shall also have volunteers with torches to assist. The park entrance/exit on Hamstead Road will be used to leave from. If arriving by car Do NOT park in the Leisure Centre car park on Hollyhead Road, as by the time the event ends , the car park will be locked and you will not be able to drive out. Instead, park on Hamstead Road, or nearby, and enter / exit the park from this side.
RSVP to reserve your place for the owl quiz & talk as it is quite a small cafe.
This owl is also a part of the Handsworth Park Arts Trail around the lake, which you will also be able to view on arrival.
